Prepare to become a Certified Adaptive Recreation & Sports SpecialistTM

BlazeSports AmericaTM, in partnership with Disabled Sports USATM, is offering the opportunity for you to become a Certified Adaptive Recreation & Sports SpecialistTM (CARSS) – – for FREE! This training opportunity includes a workshop, access to the online curriculum and certification exam.

To be eligible for this FREE BlazeSports AmericaTM training opportunity, you must be 21 years of age with a minimum of three months (or 30 hours) of direct service implementing an adaptive sport or recreation program for individuals with a physical disability (completed as an intern, volunteer, or paid staff), AND meet one of the following ADDITIONAL criteria:

  • Disabled Veteran or member of the Armed Forces
  • Military or VA therapeutic professional
  • Representative of Disabled Sports USA chapter

The BlazeSports America CARSSTM certification, formerly known as Certified Disability Sports Specialist (CDSS), was developed by BlazeSports AmericaTM with the expertise and input of a variety of professionals in the adaptive sports and recreation field. The updated BlazeSports America CARSSTM certification program will provide you with the most relevant, practical information for developing and implementing successful adaptive sports and recreation programs for people of all ages with various physical disabilities.

BlazeSports America CARSSTM Certification Program Goals:

Prepare those new to adaptive sports and recreation to create and manage new programs.

Increase the knowledge and core competencies of professionals currently working in the field.
