2014 Georgia Disability Sports Awards

The 2014 Georgia Disability Sport Awards is an opportunity to honor the athletes, coaches and volunteers for their hard work, dedication and commitment to disability sports in Georgia.   Most of all the Awards are a celebration of sport for athletes with disabilities in Georgia.  We invite you to help us celebrate by nominating and attending the event.

We are grateful to this year’s presenting sponsor, Primerica, for ongoing support of BlazeSports’ mission.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT

This year’s event will be in memory of BlazeSports’ Executive Director and two-time Paraympian Jon McCullough who passed on August 15, 2014.

In recognition of Jon, the Triumph of the Human Spirit Award was established.  The first recipient of this award is our event honoree Joey Reiman, CEO and Founder of Brighthouse, and the creator of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games’ famous “No Excuses” campaign.

Aimee Copeland, will share her inspirational story as keynote speaker.

The event will also include empowering testimonials from athletes to coaches on the power of sport in changing lives, a performance from wheelchair dance group Full Radius Dance, and various raffle items including a luxurious trip for 2 to LasVegas!

The event proceeds will support BlazeSports’ year-round active for life and sport programs for children, youth and veterans with physical disabilities.
