Blazers Continue to Set New National Records

Day 4

Plenty of PR’s in Swimming and Two National Records in Powerlifting

The Georgia Blazers Swim Team had an off day on Monday and came in rested on Tuesday and ready to swim short course events on the final day of the swim competition. All of the Blazers improved their times, with Vica Beelner taking the most time off each of her events.  The swimmers had a great meet this year at NJDC and should be very proud of their accomplishments! Congratulations to all the Georgia Blazer swimmers.

The Georgia Blazers also had an athlete competing in power lifting for the first time in many years. JaQue Billingsley (Kathleen, GA) is competing in his first ever NJDC meet, and compete he did. JaQue not only set a new national record, he set 2 new national records. His final lift was 413 pounds!  JaQue will also be competing in shotput and discus.

The Blazers 5 track and field athletes arrived safely today and will be competing on the track in the 200 and 800 meter races and field events on Wednesday, Day 5.  Good luck to Curran, James, Bryan, Collin, Chance and JaQue in their upcoming events.  For results of these events check back to the website, www.blazesports.org
