Dan Humphreys, BlazeSports Director of Training, Education, and Certification and Ann Cody, Director of Policy and Global Outreach traveled to Slippery Rock University March 4-5 to deliver a two-day Certified Disability Sport Specialist workshop for 47 students. This is the second year in a row that SRU has hosted a CDSS Regional Training Workshop for students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in Adapted Physical Activity, Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, Sport Management, and Athletic Training and once again the feedback from the participants was outstanding.
“I would recommend this training to everyone. Not only does it benefit you, but it is so interesting and I learned a LOT!”
“I really learned a lot that I can use in my everyday work with athletes with a disability.”
“This confirmed my interest in wanting to become heavily involved with the Paralympics.”
The CDSS program will once again take to the road in May and June:
May 17 & 18 – St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, Spokane, WA
June 27 & 28 – University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, LaCrosse, WI
