Congratulations to veteran and Blazer CeCe Mazyck, several Georgia natives, and all the athletes who earned a place on the U.S. Paralympic Track & Field team this weekend! To earn a spot on her first

The National Veterans Wheelchair Games (held in Richmond, VA) are closing out a week of competition in 20 different sports.  Since last year’s Games in Pittsburgh, BlazeSports has been working with a number of veterans by offering bowling, track and field, swimming and an open gym program. BlazeSports also hosted the 2012 Roosevelt Games and took veterans to the 2012 Dixie Games, all to help get our veterans ready for the 2012 NVWG.  Rodney Roscoe, Marvin Brown, and Calvin Ingram are three Atlanta area veterans who have trained hard for the 2012 Games. The 2012 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field Trials are also being held this weekend (June 29th – July 1st) at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium located on the Indiana University Purdue University – Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus (downtown Indianapolis, Ind.). This event is IPC Approved and will serve as a qualification competition for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.  The top ranked athletes from this competition will represent Team USA at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
Ce-Ce Mazych, former Army Airborne, has been partially supported by BlazeSports through our US Paralympic/VA Military program. Ce-Ce was one of four veterans to travel with BlazeSports to Tampa for the 2012 Dixie Games. Ce-Ce is also taking advantage of BlazeSports’ Equipment Loan Program borrowing a racing wheelchair while she explores wheelchair racing as a sport. Ce-Ce has met the US Paralympic/VA military standard in field events and hopes to perform well in her best event, the javelin, to earn herself a spot on her first Paralympic Team.
