This past week BlazeSports Haiti Director Daniel Pierre-Charles attended the 1st Americas Paralympic Summit, hosted by the Americas Paralympic Committee in Bogota, Colombia with guests from 41 countries from the Americas. In partnership with the Haitian Paralympic Committee (HPC) and the Haitian Secretary of State for the Inclusion of Persons with Physical Disability, Daniel Pierre-Charles and Jean-Chevalier Sanon (HPC) composed the Haitian delegation.
The Summit was organized by the Americas Paralympic Committee (APC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The IPC was represented by Xavier Gonzalez, Chief Executive Officer, and two Governing Board Members, Miguel Sagarra (Spain) and Andrew Parsons (Brazil). During the four-day Summit, Paralympic sport leaders and stakeholders discussed opportunities regarding the future of Paralympic development in the Americas and the build up to London 2012.
