Sport News: World Rowing Championships

The 2011 World Rowing Championships will take place August 28 until September 4 in Slovenia. Adaptive rowers from around the world will be competing in several events: Adaptive Women’s Arms and Shoulders Single Scull (ASW1x,) Adaptive Men’s Arms and Shoulders Single Scull (ASM1x), Trunk and Arms Mixed Double Scull (TAMix2x), Legs, Trunk and Arms Mixed Coxed Four (LTAMix4+) and Intellectually disabled Mixed Coxed Four (IDMix4+). Rowing is one of the 20 official Olympic programs of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. For More information please visit:

Sport Development: Cambodian Disability Sports Development

The Cambodian National Volleyball League (CNVLD) oversees several national sport programs dedicated to Cambodian people with disabilities. The CNVLD also initiates grassroots and annual sports programs throughout the year such as National Wheelchair Racing Program, National Volleyball League Competition, and Children’s Sports Recreational Programs. The Cambodian sport league also implements promotional programs to raise awareness of the landmine and disability issue nationally and internationally.  For more information please visit:
