The Southern Conference Championships

Last Saturday, the Georgia Blazers Prep team opened the Southern Conference Championships with an impressive 27-8 win over the MASR Mustangs (Memphis, TN). Their second game matched them against the Blazer’s arch rivals, the Music City Thunder. The Blazers rebounded from a one point loss at Regionals against Music City, a quadruple overtime game, cruising to a 28-12 win!

The Blazer’s Varsity team also opened with a win, dominating the Jr Thunder (NC) 36-16. That win placed them in a tight match up against conference rivals, Charlotte Rolling Bobcats. At half time the Blazers were tied with the Bobcats 22-22. Half way through the second half the Bobcats had the upper hand, leading by 2 points. The Blazers, unfortunately, ran out of gas and fell short 46-38.

Chance Boyd and KJ Reese were named All-Tournament Team members.
